Good day,
Yesterday I made soap using my old faithful recipe - halfway through the process leading up to the trace, I added a cup of tinned coconut milk - all went well - I then added my fragrances - I had measured them out the day before and they had stood overnight in a sealed container - Oatmeal, Milk and Honey and a little Ylang-Ylang. All of a sudden I noticed the mixtue had curdled and seperated like when you make macaroni cheese and the milk and cheese mix curdles.
Can anyone tell me what happened and what I did wrong? The only thing I can think of is that I stirred too slowly?
I would really be interested in what the forum thinks.

Secondly, I have noticed dark specks of colour in a batch of soap made with Labcolour from Bramble Berry.
It was the first time I had used this colour form.

I look forward to your advise.
Kind regards
Carol-Ann

How hot did you soap? Did you use a stick blender?

Hello,
My temperature was 38 degrees C. I never go higher than that.
I used a stick blender but the curdling only happened once I had added the fragrances.
I also added Liquid silk - 1 tsp. Can liquid silk go 'off'? If it does, could it cause curdling?

I am learning something new each day, just a bit of a waste of oils tho.
Kind regards
Carol-Ann

If you used the OMH before, it might have been the ylang. Was it bought from a reputable vendor?

Hello,
Nearly had another disaster with the Oatmeal, Milk and Honey Fragrance today - started setting up prematurely.
Just managed to get it into the mould - You really have to work fast!!!!
I am quite nervous now of all the things that can go wrong!!!
I am really losing heart.
Kind regards
Carol-Ann
