Vinca,

I used your strawberries & champagne soap today. What a delight! I had just come back from a bike ride to the coffee shop. It was a long ride home in the head wind. I was tired, but jumped in the shower with your soap. Nice bubbles, creamy lather & very moisturizing! Just the right amount of strawberry seeds, very exfoliating & invigorating. I got out of the shower feeling great! Thank you so much for the bar. I was secretly hoping that I would receive the strawberries & champagne and am so glad I did.

Thanks.

Karen

Wow - I feel like I showed up late for the party, but what fun favors I got! :P

Four weeks of mail got delivered today after we returned from our unexpected wilderness vacation and I just found the extra-special box! What fun I had opening and sniffing all the different soaps. You're all so creative and I am getting great ideas for packaging, color swirling, etc. I haven't had a chance to use any of them yet but considering yesterday was my first shower in 25 days, I have lots of showers to make up for! I can't wait to open them up and get clean! Thanks everyone.

Marion is in the western part of NC, about 30 miles east of Asheville at the base of the mountains - not quite over by Andy Griffithville, but definitely out in the country.

I used Pamper Pantry's soap today. WOW! that is some nice soap. I absolutely love, love, love the scent. I will have to switch from peppermint to spearmint, much more feminine. Thank you so much! This has been the greatest experience to try everyone's soap. Thank you.

Kbn, I love the bar of lemon/poppyseed. Just the right amount of poppyseeds. The bar has lots of bubbles which I love. It left my skin feeling very nurished & moisturized. I might just have to try the powdered goat's milk. I was turned off by making soap with milk, but yours feels wonderful so I might have to give it a go again.

Thank you for all the comments on the Mint Forest Soap. It did mellow into a great scented soap, there is Rosemary EO also and I think that helped mellow the Spearmint. But you should have smelled my house when I first un molded it! Smelled like strong mint for a couple weeks!

I have been able to use 5 of the 9 soaps so far and here are the comments:

Apple Spice - Loved the wrapping! LOVE the smell, makes me start thinking of apple pies and fall. Was a touch to scrubby for me, but I tend to be a bit sensitive to that. Color was great and lathered up well. Really nice soap. Skin felt clean and not dried out after using. I gotta get going on some fall stuff!

Chamomile & Anise – Nice hard bar of soap! Love the look of it. I did not get much of a scent from it, but then my sniffer can be out of whack now and then. Lathered up nice. It almost seemed like I had barely used it after a shower, suspect it will be a long lasting soap. It had some ‘seed’ in it, but they were not scratchy at all. I enjoyed this soap, left my skin clean and not dried out. I want to try a version of this.

White Chocolate – I LOVED the swirl, very pretty soap. Lathered well, felt smooth while using it. I did not get any scent of Chocolate, but again my sniffer isn’t the best sometimes. I can only hope to have as pretty a soap when I grow up :P Great job!

BlackJack – The packaging was great, beautiful swirl! Love the story behind the soap, made it feel special. I am usually not a fan of the ‘Licorice’ smell, but this was really nice and not overpowering. Great lather and left my skin feeling clean and not dried out. Wonderful soap and presentation.

Spellbound Woods – I have to say, if you can be in love with a soap, I am with this one. First the scent captured me, now I have another one on my list to purchase! Love the cut on the soap. Then I sliced off a piece and I think during your cure phase or something it got a clearish white center to it, was really cool. I spent some time trying to figure out if you did that on purpose, and if you did – I can’t figure out how  Then I used the soap, smooth, lots of lather and bubbles and my skin was so nice after the shower. So far this one is my fav.

Now I am on to the Citrus/Fruity group. When are we gonna do this again?? I’ve got a couple ideas that I am gonna try soon.

Thank you everyone, this is like Christmas – so much fun!

This morning's shower was energizing with Pamper Pantry's Mint Forest. How refreshing! That was a giant bar of soap, too, which hubby will love. Lather was great and my skin feels wonderful. Thanks so much. I am so enjoying this!

I've only had a chance to try a couple of them so far. Lemon poppy was wonderful...I will always gravitate to anything citrusy, the bubbles were luxurious and the poppy seed ratio was right on! I can't wait to try the peaches and goats cream soap, thats waiting for tonight's shower.

The great packaging ideas, swirlies, various cuts, it never fails to amaze me the number of variations that can be achieved on essentially the same item.

I'll step up to the plate and and offer to run the next swap. I'll post it under another thread. I did like the 10 participants so will keep it the same - that makes it small enough to handle if folks are working with 2-4 pound batches or want to do soemthing special.

Heavenly, I just tried your soap! It is Heavenly, lol. Very unisex scent, a little on the masculine side, which I love. Great hard bar, moisturizing with lots of bubbles. I love, love, love your soap. Going to try and get my husband to use your soap, I'll fall in love with him all over again! A great scent, is this your concoction or can you order this FO? I love, love, love it! Thank you.

Redfishinggirl - I tried your lemon salt bar today. What a treat! I love the lemony smell & of course your packaging is just awesome!

Thank you.

I still have fatland's peaches & cream left, going to wait another week for cure. Smells great and can't wait to try it.

Fatland - I couldn't wait any longer, your soap smelled so much like late Summer and felt so creamy. Very smooth and pleasant. If I mention my soapmaking, people always ask if I use GM, which I haven't tired yet. This cream was a real treat that made it a special soap, and I just love the peach scent. Thank you and your generous 4-legged friends. This is one of my favorite bars.

Vinca Leaf - your Spiced Apple smells wonderful. I enjoyed the texture and lather and like holding a round bar of soap. The crinkle cut adds a nice touch. The apricot seed powder surprised me, but turns out to be a very good exfoliator for those stubborn spots. The wrapping is beautiful.

Karen - The Skeeter Beater is terrific. Our skeeters are arriving late this summer, so your soap will be doing double time from now until Fall. The scent is pleasant, not the typical citronella aroma. I really do like holding a round bar of soap, and may get brave and try the PVC soon. Your package is really neat. Very professional, especially with the labels.

I really wanted to try the your current swap, but time has been getting away from me lately, so I thought I'd better sit this one out :( However, I'm reading with interest. It sounds like there will be some fascinating soaps swapped. I've finally gotten a larger mold, and hope to get comfortable using it to be ready for future swaps. I sure enjoyed this one. :D
