I haven't, but if it's in bigger pieces, it could go moldy on you due to the water content.

I've just purchased some coconut (to eat) and it feels about like stearic acid, if you can believe that. Like flakes that small and dry like that...

I have added some dissicated coconut POWDER to my cow soap and just this last weekend heard feed back from a customer that she really liked it. I think that since it is completely dried, there is no problem with molding and since it is a powder rather than shredded, it is actually tolerable from a scrubby perspective. An added benefit is that it also contains additional oils that [might] help moisturize the skin.

What if you lightly toast it in the oven first to dry it out then chop it up or process it? Decent idea. I just shredded some ivory shea butter soap to top the coconut loaf I want to make tomorrow. I hoped it would look like shredded coconut, but it look smore like shredded mozzarella cheese! :shock:

Go ahead and make a separate unscented batch of white soap. If you use a vegetable peeler you can get some nice curls so you can add to the top of your loaf.

Not scenting this batch might be a plus if you want white curls, I still haven't found a coconut fragrance that stays white. I tried and ended up with a brown soap that has lighter brown "curls" inside. Smells great though!
