8 ounce Bottom layer: m&p + pumice + clay + coffee grounds + 1 tsp fragrance

I thought the "ribbons" i embedded in the middle would stick, but it looks like they detached and floated. I think I poured top layer when it was too hot. Oh well. :?

8 ounce Top layer: m&p + Titanium Dioxide (distributed via liquid glycerin in a ziploc baggie: 1/2 tsp) + 1/2 tsp fragrance

I watched it like a dog and a play-toy--the look on their faces like it will pop out of it's mold, cut itself and wrap itself. Eventually I went to bed and I left this cooling in front of the fan.

This morning I noticed it had coloring on top. After cutting, I noticed the pink discoloring was only occurring around the upper part of the bars (no more than 1/4 inch).

Can't seem to validate the Pinkness other than, "Yeah! Pink Frosting!"

Just tell your customers that it was meant to be this way. :D They will never know the difference.

if your clay was pink, maybe it floated to the top?

I used green clay in the bottom layer. I realized now I should've done the ziploc smashing method before adding to my soaps. Powders in general seem to clump. :D

The pink remains a mystery. hehe.

And the Pink Continues!

As of today nearly all of the "white" parts of this soap have a pinkish tint to it. Could it be the fragrance?

BB's Buttercream and Snickerdoodle comes with a super secret colorant. ;D

Hi, cubbles!

If you used BB's Buttercream and Snickerdoodle, I can confirm that, yes, it discolors to a pinkish hue. I was wondering if it was going to discolor, too, so I went ahead and made a bar without a vanilla stabilizer, just to see what it would do. Here are some of the scraps and leftover soap from that project (the actual bar turned out rather ugly and I'm embarrassed to post it  ). I made the soap almost a week and a half ago. These scraps were white when I poured them, and now they look like this:

It's not an unattractive color. It's a very pretty dusty rose. But, obviously, if you're going for white, even the prettiest dusty rose won't work. :)

I wonder if this discoloration occurs in CP.

Thanks, Bramble Momma! And thanks for all of the hard work you all do at BB -- we soapers appreciate it! :D

No worries! :D
The site has been updated and there is now a note about the discoloration. Thank you for pointing this out for us!

Funny, I thought it was supposed to be this way!! I love this scent, but it only seemed to discolor my soap, not my lotion. Anyone else?

I notice that my lotions typically do not discolor even if the fragrance discolors my MP and CP soap. I've only had one lotion discolor brown (ironically with Buttercream & Snickerdoodle) but ONLY the side that was left exposed to the window and natural light. It was strange ...

But you are correct, typically, your lotions stay white even if the fragrance discolors your soap.
