Hi!

I write an eZine just for melt and pour soapmaking, and am planning my future issues for Summer and Fall. I'm wondering if I should stick with easy projects or go all out and do some really over-the-top crazy designs that might be really challenging. What do you think?

If you could take a minute and comment on my blog post , I would really appreciate it! Plus you will help shape my future issues of , which is great!

Thanks so much! :D

It looks as though no one responded? How can that be?

I love "Let's Get Soapy" and I'm hoping that since this was written in February and you have just published the special issue in June, that the "make your own texture sheets" was just one example of the wild and crazy ideas you are talking about.

I love the idea of getting some education on how to take M P to the next level. Your stuff is awesome. I've only been making soaps for about a month, but have already identified you as a role model for myself. Now that doesn't mean I want to copy what you do... well, I do in a way because everything is great... but I would like to learn how to not be afraid to experiment and how to be more self-expressive through this medium.

I think the basics are great too, but being able to get step-by-steps for above-and-beyond projects is really what would keep my attention, and keep me coming back for more.

Thanks for great stuff - I appreciate it!

Hi Janet!
thanks for your reply!

I appreciate your concern about lack of responses. Actually, many soapers headed over to my blog and posted their comments there. The resounding request was, "yes! Bring on the hard stuff!!"

So I have made sure to include projects of every level in my eZines. I'm so glad you have checked out the June issue! Have you made a texture sheet yet? I'd love to hear how it went!

Regarding your interest in learning how to express yourself through the medium, you might like my new video called "Finding Inspiration" where I go to an architectural salvage shop on the hunt for new soap ideas. Check it out .

Thanks again and I can't wait to see some of your work in the Flaunt Your Stuff thread!

Hi Debbie-
I'm all for 'over the top' and 'easy'. I think you can combine because sometimes when 'over the top' takes more time it's nice to settle back to something 'easy' knowing that no matter how it is the results we get from friends and current/future customers will be "I can't believe you made that" or "It's smells so yummy" or "How cools is that" or "How did you do that". The end result you provide to us is being able to craft creative, attractive, scrumptious and appealing soaps. And that is cool. I admit I've not carved out time yet to order your e-zine (and I'm still behind on my other activity I talked to you about - this week has been crazy with the kids last week of school). What can I say I'm still inspired by the 'real life' class I took from you and your capacity to stay in touch with so many soaping fans that you have.
Thanks again
Hilary

Thanks so much Hilary!
Believe me, it goes both ways - you guys encourage me to keep designing and making more tutorials with your support and enthusiasm! So at this rate, it looks like I'll be making new stuff for years to come!!

I agree - having a range of difficulty in the eZines is best so everyone finds something they'd like to try. Sometimes it's just fun to look at the crazy stuff and say, "wow - I would never do that!"

Thanks again everyone and I promise that there is more exciting stuff on the horizon so stay tuned!

Hi Debbie,
I bought the latest version of you e-zine, but just haven't had the time to play. I would love to see something harder! :)

Hi Soapbuddy!
Okay, I've got something for you! It's one of those: "dude, that's so much work, who would even WANT to do that?!" kind of projects.

I'm going to put it up on my blog pretty soon so make sure you keep up to date!

Chiming in late to say that I love that you have basics and beginning projects. So many newbies can easily get intimidated by difficult-looking projects that it's good to have those feeder, starter projects to inspire.

I'm a huge fan of your e-zine and so happy that you're publishing it.
