I'm (still) searching for the ever-elusive honey scent, something like the Le couvent des Minimes honey & shea lotion, and I was
so excited to receive an order from BB last night that I used the non-discoloring vanilla in a loaf practice run because it was something sweet to try out.
My phone doesn't have a great resolution (I think it just captures fingerprints) but this is layered black mica and 24K gold mica, mainly. I waited a little too long on the outer layers and I can break them apart if I bend the soap, and I was going for something brighter, so I'm excited to get another pass at it.
Anyway, the non-discoloring vanilla didn't pass the sniff test for me personally in the bottle--I probably should have gone ahead with one of the other delicious fragrances I got!--which usually means I won't be passionate about the fragrance in the final product, and I'm not. I finally figured out this morning that it smells a lot like my teenage memory of --a floral, smoky vanilla.
This definitely might be the perfect fragrance for somebody else, though, and I'll happily send out sniffable slices to the first five people who PM me their mailing info. It's made with the BB honey MP base, which makes a lovely, creamy lather.
