Hi all, I was wondering if you could answer a question I have.
Recently I bought my first 3-D mold (one of those Japanese character ones). I'm interested in painting the character a different color from the soap itself.
1. Do you paint the character BEFORE or AFTER you cast the soap? In other words, do you paint the mold beforehand, or do you paint the actual soap after?
2. What do you use to paint it (what type of coloring?) Do you just mix your color with a little water and paint it on with a brush?
I'm a little confused because the site I bought the mold from said to cast the soap first and then paint it afterwards (the design is recessed). But I thought I remembered seeing a link somewhere here of someone making a bar like that and they painted the MOLD first before pouring the soap. Maybe that mold wasn't recessed? I'm not sure. Anyway, thanks for answering my questions! I'm a newb.
