My friend asked me to make her a shower gel. I don't really know where to start because I don't even make shampoos. Can anyone give me an idea where to start??

I would go with a base from BrambleBerry. http://www.brambleberry.com/soapbases.aspx
You could use Liquid Concentrate Base, Shampoo Base or Liquid Organic Soap Base. Be aware that the organic is not as thick.

Shower gels are in my mind the place to start if you want to make liquid soaps. They are alot less trouble than shampoos. Try to get a copy of Catherine Failor's book called "Making natural liquid soaps". I would read the whole book cover to cover before you start.

Yeah I have not braved the liquid yet and I've been making toiletries for 8 years now. I just gave in and started using a base from essentialsbycatalina.com it's pricey but thick odorless and they have a paraben free option.
When I get the whole CP soap thing down I will try making natural liquid soap...
