Im a little confused. Do you not like germall is this a reason to switch or do you recommend using more than one preservative? This recipe actually called for 1.5oz preservative (recommended a broad spectrum antimicrobial/antifungal due to the goats milk).

I agree with Irena - that amount of preservative is VERY high.

Well I finally got around to making this batch of lotion.
Recap:
distilled water 50%
glycerin 5%
aloe 10%
goats milk 10%
stearic acid 5%
ewax 5%
mango butter 4%
avocado oil 4%
jojoba oil 6%
almond oil 4%
grapeseed oil 4%
preservatives, vit e and f.o

I think that the thickness is better, but still a little greesy for my liking. How could I make it more creamy less greasy?
Also I was a little nervous about the goats milk so instead I used 50% water. 0% goats milk. Help please

Your formula (without the goat's milk) equals to only 97%. Where is the other 3% ?

Phase C (preservatives and additives)

Ok. I would leave out the stearic acid and add some cetyl alcohol at 1%. Distribute the difference in your oils.

I looked up both cetyl alcohol and stearic acid. Is cetyl alcohol a better emollient

Also is there a certain % I should stick to for water's and oils. Example in this recipe I have 65% water base and 32% oil base
3% preservative and additives. Im wondering if I can use more aloe than water or even eliminate the water all together.

You can use all aloe if you like, or any combo of water and aloe. 65% liquid sounds right for this type of a recipe.

Thank you. The lotion feels much better since it has sat for a couple of hours. I guess distilled water is cheaper than aloe. For my second batch Im trying substitute a little goats milk. Looking forward to the results.
