Hi, I am new to making soap and have ordered some melt and pour bases from Essentials by Catalina because I heard she had good bases. However, I don't know anything about fragrance oils and where a good place to buy some are. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Where do I even begin? :?

I too am still a newbie to soap but so far I have had the best luck with bramble berry. I have not yet had any problems with them or while using their fragrances. They also seem to have good customer service. I've bought from a few other places with mixed results. I've had good luck so far with snowdrift farms' fragrance oils. I was liking southern soapers but I'm somewhat unsure at the moment. I had some trouble with one of their fragrances and sent them a very polite professional email asking about it and their fragrances in general and received a somewhat nasty response. They seemed kinda jumpy towards me.
As I said before I'm no expert but so far I'm leaning towards bramble berry and snowdrift farm. I absolutely LOVE bramble berries Spellbound Woods FO. I also like their almond biscotti alot. They send samples a lot too =)

I would try our list owner; BrambleBerry. :) They also have good MP base.

Yes, we do. :D
I like the FO's at BB, there are some really great ones. Anne-Marie is very picky about what scents she brings in.
If you are looking for EO's we have those too, but I found that From Nature with Love has a HUGE selection. I have never had to deal with them as a customer though, so am not sure how there are in that area. Have not heard anything bad though. :D

sheephater - I love the almond biscotti as well! yummmmm!

Brambleberry and MMS. Excellent quality without breaking the bank.
From Nature with Love, Excellent also but very spendy with outrageous handling charges.

Anyone order from Oregon Trails?
I don't want to get into the details but I recently place my first order with them and the experience was... umm... strange.

I have not received the order yet but they had some scents that I have had trouble locating elsewhere... that's assuming they are actually as described and we all know how that can go.

I have ordered from Oregon Trails. I got an email that was a bit strange, tried to contact them but didn't have any luck. My order did arrive tho. No problems with the order & I like the scents that I ordered from them.

I would like to pile on the Brambleberry scents. I would like to add besides the quality of the scents, I particularly like the fact that they come in glass amber bottles. Anything I have purchased in plastic seems to collapse the bottle after some time. If you don't use all your scents up, they store much better in the glass. I just wouldn't want anyone to think that I have drawers, and boxes, and closets piled up with old fo's or anything..........................

I have had odd experiences with Oregon Trails and so has a friend of mine. But, my orders ultimately come through OK in the end and they have several fragrances that are top sellers with my customers. So, I do purchase from them, on occasion, but don't find them as reliable as othe suppliers.

I do purchase from a few suppliers who ship in plastic bottles. I transfer the FO to amber glass bottles as soon as they arrive. Over time, I don't think that the oils do well in the plastic bottles.
