Teach Soap

I was looking through my chemistry lab book, and it looks like we're going to be making hand lotion at school which is pretty neat, I think!

Stearic Acid - 3 grams
Cetyl Alcohol - 1g
Lanolin (anhydrous) - 2g
Triethanolamine - 1 mL
Glycerin - 2 mL
Water - 50 mL
Ethanol - 5.0 mL

Are any of these ingredients not safe to be using? I think I would like to try and make some of my own at home, it seems easy enough. What about other possible ingredients that I could add to this?
I just thought that it was awesome, considering it was in my book! haha

It has a lot of alcohol, which could be drying. Is that supposedly used as a preservative since it's such a high amount?
I would sub the lanolin for shea or mango butter, but you would need to rework your recipe.
Triethanolamine could also cause contact dermatitis.

I guess this would work as a lab project, but this isn't really a good recipe.

Yes, its just the recipe that was in my lab book and I copied it into here. I am definitely clueless as to making any sort of lotions, but I would really like to see a real recipe!
I just figured I would post it to ask questions!

But any information that you could give, or that I could find by searching would be great! I would love to try and make a lotion!
