Teach Soap

I can't thank you enough! I placed an order late on Monday night. I had a question, left a message, then decided just to place my order because I was out of coconut oil & palm oil. The very next day, Tuesday morning, I get a call. We have a little chat, then I ask if I can add a couple of things to my order and of course you said sure. So yesterday, I used up the very last of my palm & coconut oil. I was starting to panic - thinking I would have to wail til Monday afternoon to make more soap. Then, FED EX shows up today, Thursday @ 2pm with my Brambleberry order!!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Brambleberry for your fantastic service!

Yes, they have excellent customer service! I've used them for years.

Swirling does take a bit to get down. My first attempted swirl I was still pretty new to CP in general. I waiting to long, thinking that I did not have proper trace. By the time I was convinced I had reached trace I glopped the soap in and gave it a stir... it came out striped.

I think it still looked okay... but definitely not a swirl! Mine is on the right.

Bramble Momma - I think that your soap looks pretty!

I was a big chicken. I was making C/P soap for over 6 months before I got the courage to try swirling. Now, most of the time, I use the funnel technique and usually get some nice swirls.

Heavenly, I just googled swirls and found the funnel method. Thanks for mentioning it. I might try this method tomorrow, see how it works out. Thanks again.

Let me know how it works out for you! I really like the funnel technique. My hubby always helps me soap and last time we tried it using three colors - the main color was natural (uncolored) and then we alternated with small amounts of dark brown and a pinkish-red. It turned out nicely.

Wow! That looks great Heavenly. I also like Bramble Momma's, it looks so much better than mine, just looking for more of a swirl pattern. How did you get your hubby to help you with it, mine won't touch it

Don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure that your swirls will look fine. I think that hand-made soap, swirled or not, is beautiful!

I consider myself really lucky. My hubby actually LIKES to help me make soap. He doesn't want me to be exposed to the lye fumes because I have asthma, so I measure it out and he mixes it. He also likes to stir the soap batter and pour it into the mold. He is pretty good at determining when it is tracing enough. And, he is the one who loves swirling. We do that part together and it really helps to have the extra hands!

He also helps with whipped soap and body butter, too. But, I have to kick him out of the kitchen when I do Melt & Pour. He sort of gets in the way with that one. Don't tell him I said that!
