Hi all! Can someone give me a method of rebatching please? The soap I want to rebatch has been curing for four weeks. How long do I have to wait after cutting to use the soap after rebatching? Thankyou

CP soap can be rebatched anytime after it's made. If it's only 4 weeks old, you should not need much water at all to rebatch. Just shred it, put it in a crock pot on low and let it melt. It will never be pourable like CP is, but you can glop it into your mold as soon as its melted and mixed.

I've used both the crock pot method and the microwave method. Personally, I prefer the microwave, but I suppose everyone has to find what works best for them. I finely grated the soap, added a very small amount of liquid and cooked it for a couple minutes on medium in the micro. Stir and continue cooking it until it's as liquid as it's going to get (as soap buddy says, it's somewhat stodgy) and then you can glop it into your mold. You sort of have to feel your own way and add more liquid if it needs it, depending upon how old the soap is and the consistency as you melt it. Keep your eye on it as it's cooking, I'm told it can bubble over if you're not careful. Good luck!
