I know this has already been said but those painted soaps are truly amazing. The design may have been easy for you but you seem like a very talented artist to me. Great job! They should fly off the shelf!

Thank you so much PJ!! Your soap paints are so fun, I can't stop myself!

I took a big chance by painting a soap layer and having to pour hot soap onto it. What I did was dusted the set clear layer with arrowroot then painted it. Let the paint dry overnight. One on soap I misted the painted layer with alcohol then poured a practically gelling layer onto it. On the other I did the same but didn't spray with alcohol. They both turned out great and didn't split. It was a miracle, I think!

I'll be making many more for sure!!

Debbie, hang in there. I'm working with a tool company to create an affordable airbrush that will spray clear soap rather than paint. I've tested 3, got one to work but am playing with the formula for the clear soap and making the process totally easy to setup, coat and clean.

But until then one thing you can do is mist the painted layer with alcohol and use the injector to drop 4 tiny blobs of clear soap that run together --creating a super thin clear layer over the painted image -- let that harden and fearlessly pour a full clear layer (after spraying.

With the painted eggs I make, I paint them, let them dry for 2 days then spriz with alcohol and use the injector to dribble a very thin layer of clear soap to coat them before embedding. Airbrushing will be much nicer.

A-ha! That's great! So I can spray the painted designs with alcohol with confidence. Of course, I'll be very light handed, but still. And doing the drops of clear on top is great, too. Thanks for the tips!!
