I have made a balm consisting of avocado, beeswax, apricot kernel, cocoa butter, and sweet almond oil. Do you think I need a preservative in it? Thanks.

The balm itself does not, as there is no water in it.

However - if you are selling this and people will be dipping their hands into it or there is a chance they will get water into it then you will want a preservative. I think that adding a preservative is always a good idea... better safe than sorry!

Thank you! Same ratio as with lotion? .5% to 1% of total weight? I am using Phenonip.
