Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and new to M & P soap as well. I have been making CP soap for about 5 years.

I have begun experimenting and today tried to cut a log of M & P soap. I used my Tank cutter first. I thought that would go through it with no problem, but I couldn't even get 1/2 through. I was afraid I was going to break a wire, so I stopped.

Next I tried using my pastry cutter and had a really hard time with that too. Nothing came out straight. I have a bunch of uneven bars.

Can anyone give me any tips on how to cut a log of M & P evenly? I don't feel like I would ever want to sell something that looked so uneven.

I used a miter box with the pastry cutter. It's not perfect, but the bars look halfway decent.
Don't use your tank for cutting MP.

Good idea with the mitre box. I know I can pick one up at Home Depot for about $5.00. I'll give it a try next time. I hate wasting soap. It kills me!
