Bath melts are usually just butters with maybe a little bit of a liquid oil, so they dissolve faster. They do not fizz.

Oh. I see. So you just melt the say cocoa butter and add maybe a little bit of Sweet Almond Oil and then pour in a mold. Do people like them? It seems like it would leave an oil slick in your tub.

So What about a bath Cake- I found this recipe while searching for a body butter recipe- What would the eggs do to the bath water?

Sweetie Cakes for the bath
2 cups fine sea salts
1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup corn starch
2 tbsp. sunflower oil
2 eggs
5-6 drops Lovespell F.O or another favorite fragrance or essential oil.
***preheat your oven to about 325 degrees F.
Mix together all of your ingredients. Take approximately 1 tsp of your dough and roll it into a ball ( 1 " in diameter). Make the same size balls with the rest of your dough and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake the cakes for 10 minutes, until they are lightly browned (Do Not Overbake). Allow them to cool completely. ***This recipe will make about 24 Sweetie Cakes ***

To use: Drop 1 or 2 Sweetie Cakes into a warm bath and allow to dissolve. For packaging ideas place your finished Sweetie Cakes into some cute mini heart designed cupcake papers (you should be able to find these at your local grocery store) and then place them in an 8 oz ointment tin with a cute personalized valentine.

Those look like something I tried about 3 years ago. They got hard as a rock and never melted in the tub. I didn't like the fact that it had eggs in it either.

I made these before with just oils and butters. It was nice but left me a little more oily than I liked... my mom has a bit dryer skin though and she LOVED them. I would use them again but maybe just in smaller pieces.

I made bath melts as presents to give away for x-mas. I got a great response and enjoy them too. i like it for dry winter skin.

I found that if i used cherry cordial candy molds, they were small enough that 1-2 in the tub wouldn't really leave a greasy ring.

i used cocoa butter, shea butter, soa, vitamin e and a little natrasorb w/fo.
