Hi Everyone!

So I just made my attempt at making soap cupcakes for the first time. I'm using a melt and pour Base with the melt and pour/liquid Castile whipped frosting. My question is, how can I package these? The frosting isn't rock solid, it's still spongey or pliable. I wrap my regular bars in shrink wrap with a heat gun, but I'm afraid that if I take a heat gun to the cupcakes, the frosting will just melt out, even with just a quick pass with the heat. I was worried about cello bags because of the cupcakes sweating. Same with using the little cupcake boxes. I feel they need to be heat sealed first but how do I work around it? If I wrapped them in shrink wrap and just heated the base of the cupcake, would that create enough of a seal to prevent the sweating?

Please help!! Lol. What do you do??

Thanks so much :)

Hi! Well, goodness, I'm only one year late in a simple response, but I have had the same questions in the past about wrapping these cute cupcakes. First of all, be sure to use LCP soap base (like cold process or sometimes called low-sweat base) to make the cupcakes. This really helps with the glycerin dew that can form. I think shrink wrap would damage the frosting and would be difficult to remove for the consumer. I do use the cupcake boxes and a heavy duty plastic wrap around the base with a heat gun to protect the base. They all seemed to stay nice and neat to give/sell to guests and they loved them. The boxes are so cute and easy to put together! I don't think I'd ship them, though, as I'm not brave enough to do that yet! Best wishes and hoping that you've found a solution for your creations :D
