Teach Soap

I just read Lindy's post on rebatching in the microwave and I think I can do it just fine. I have a batch of cp that is not scented enough for me. I made it a week ago and was thinking I would rebatch to add more scent. My question is do I need to cover the bowl in the microwave? Thanks!

Yes, and make sure you don't overheat. It would get dry. Micro in short spurts.

I recently used Lindy's microwave method and was very pleased with the results. I echo Soapbuddy's caution about short zaps at low power. (I had never adjusted the power setting on my microwave so this was a good excuse to figure out how to do it )

The only problem is that I was filling small guest sized soap molds and in hindsight I wished I had used the boiling bag method so I could have clipped a corner and squeezed it into the molds much easier.

Yup, cover, short spurts, and STIR DOWN between spurts.
Microwave is the only way I will rebatch...I think it's the easiest, quickest
and cleanest method...especially if it's something you don't like doing!

I have a microwave rebatch question for you guys (sorry to hijack the thread!)

I bought some microwave steamer bags today, has anyone rebatched in those? I picked them up thinking they might work.

No, there aren't any holes in them. They are made by Ziploc and have a "zipper" type seal. I may give them a try today; I'll let you how how it goes.
