I was told to never add the scent before it was under 160, and under 140 was best, then pour at 130. adding oils at 180, might be the issue.

I have added all my FO's at 180 regardless of flashpoint and it has never made a difference. I've been at it over 15 years and never had a problem with the FO burning off or causing a problem. Once the FO is mixed with the wax, the flashpoint changes anyway. I only had a problem once when I added way too much cinnamon FO and the excess FO pooled on top of my tester and caused a flare-up when I lit it.

Wax melts, tarts, or cubes, are scented chunks of wax. They are placed into tart warmers, also called tart-burners, where the heat gently melts the wax and releases the fragrance. The scent lasts anywhere from several hours to several days.
