Afternoon all,

quick question regarding coloring, specifically with oxides (for now...). How far in advance can I mix oxides for a batch? I see question asked in the topic ‘Pre mixing Colours?’ from Aug 14th 2011, but not really answered. One response states that the oxides don’t tend to stay suspended and needing to remix so what’s the point? Being new to this sport, for me, if this is one bit of scooping and measuring I can do a day or so a head of time it would help me to not feel pinched come soap time and giving them a quick stir isn’t a big deal.

I disperse my colors right before I need to use them.

You can do them in advance but the powder will sink to the bottom. A semi-quick mix or shake should fix them, I think it would still save some time.
