Hi everyone....

I know that certain fragrances made with vanilla will turn soap brown over time. Will this show for colored soaps as well, or is it mainly for lighter colored soap?

I just ordered some color stabilizer but I want to know if I'm wasting my time making blue transparent soap with vanilla fragrances before I receive it....
Thanks so much!
Denise

Yes, vanilla based fragrances will turn brown over time. I haven't had too much luck with the stabilizer.

The stabilizer only seems to lessen the browning or slow it down or something but it doesn't seem to stop it. BB makes a non-discoloring vanilla. Stephenson (I don't know if BB carries it or not) makes a mp with stabilizer already in it, not sure if that works any better or not.

In general, I've not had a problem with colors and vanilla ... but I don't make too many transparent colors either, usually 'creamy' ones.
