I have looked for help on this topic but nothing quite matched. I have about ten 10 pounds loaves under my belt so far, with success. But this weekend I was soaping and after about 3 hours I went in the laundry room and the floor was wet. There was orange water/oil/liquid dripping from one edge of the first mold. I had a mess to clean. Eventually it stopped. Then today I unmolded the other loaf and it was sitting in a pool of colored liquid. It was an 1/8 inch thick of liquid. Both loaves had pimples all over the bottoms.
What was new is that I tried lining the loaves with the plastic bags. One obviously leaked. The other held the water in. But why so much water? Has anyone ever had a water gusher? Were the pimples on the bottom an overheat? My molds have lids that were screwed on to hold in the heat. Both batches have gone in the uh oh pot.
20 pounds of blah.
