I am new to soaping, and have had a few blunders that I could figure out for the most part thanks to many bits of advice I have read online from great people like you! Recently, however, I decided to make a citrus soap with eo and fo and mango puree. It turned out with tunnels and puddles of oil! When I checked the next day to cut it, it was standing in oil basically. Here is the recipe: 4 oz. Cocoa butter, 16 oz. Coconut oil, 6 oz. Grapeseed oil, 4 oz. Mango butter, 24 oz. Olive oil, 7.48 oz. Lye, 17.82 oz. Liquid (I mixed juice from small lemon, lime, orange together with a juice mix from Bolthouse Farms containing coconut water, lemon & pineapple juice, and avocado and mango puree, then finished out this liquid with water). I added 1 cup mango puree, 1 TBSPN honey, 1 TBSPN beeswax, drops of vitamin E, Grapefruit see oil, zest from my lemon, lime, and orange, Grapefruit Bellini FO, Sweet Orange EO, Grapefruit EO, Rosemary EO and Patchouli EO. Looing back, I think I messed up by not discountibg my liquid by my puree. But how should I have done that? By ounces? Did I use too mutch puree and juices? Too much oil? I was able to rebatch it with some old soap scraps and it cleans and soaps fine. Any help/advice from you guys would be so appreciated. Thank you!
