HELP!!! I can't figure out why all my soaps are overheating?!!! I started with milk soaps... so I figured I would soap with a lower temp... didn't help. changed molds... was using a wooden mold, and now use silicone mold from Essential Depot... still too hot.. dropped the milk.. made with plain water.. still too hot... no insulation, only gels partways, and cracks. actually use a fan on and under molds.
My last batches I dropped the water... 33%... still overheated. Really??? Is it my recipe? I LOVE gelled soap, but I can't insulate.... and they only partially gel, but crack.
my basic recipe is:
30% Olive
30% Coconut
20% Almond
15% Avocado
5% shea or cocoa butter
5% Castor
I soap at 38% water, with 5% superfat.
Someone help?!
I just can't figure out what is causing my overheating issue.
