Hi. I made the soap yesterday 2 pounds batch and my mold was for 2 1/2 pounds. Soap completely filled the 2 1/2 pounds mold and it took me a while to get to the medium trace. It was very liquid. Soap didn't have any essential oils or Fragrances. Also it was very hard to operate the blender because the soap was pulling the blender down all the time on the high-speed. So I ended up with tiny bubbles on top ith soap as well. Maybe I have a powerful for this job or doesn't matter? Any suggestions?
Also can anyone suggest a scale that measures in 100 ounces and where can I buy a good one?

Did you run the recipe through a lye calculator? What other oils did you use? How old is your lye and where did it come from?
It sounds like you need a different stick blender. 2 lbs. is fairly small. I would try a fairly small stainless steel mixing bowl that has high sides and stick blend on low off and on til you reach a trace.
Here is a good scale. Don't forget to get the electric adapter.

Recipe included the following
Shea butter 4oz
Almond oil 8oz
Olive oil 10oz
Coconut oil 10oz
Castor oil 1oz

Lye is about 4 month old

I ran the recipe through Lye Calculator initially and it was a little bit off but since I got it from a good source, I decided to try.

What I did wrong I think is that I melted all oils individually and then poured them into the bowl but did not incorporate them.

Do you think that any of this might have caused the problem?

For that size batch, you would need 8 to 12 ounces of water (or liquid) and 4.6 ozs. of lye for a 7% superfat.
You need to melt all your oils and butters together.
