I am a sucker for instant gratification so I have always used the HP method of soap making vs CP.

Is there any difference in the end product?

What is the real difference between the methods?

Can you decrease curing time using a dehydrator with adjustable settings? say down to 95 degrees?

waiting 6 months, may make me crazy! LOL

I do CP with no gel. I prefer the lighter colors it gives me and I can use less fragrance. Whether CP or HP is a matter of personal preference.
Either way you still need a cure time. As the soap cures, the pH changes slightly downward for a harder and milder soap.
A dehydrator helps for the water to evaporate making the bars harder faster, but it doesn't speed up the cure.
Depending on which and what type of a dehydrator you have, you could end up with melted soap bars. Mine melted.

thanks, I am getting some PH strips to test my new batch of rose soap from yesterday, and my lavender and lavender lemon from a month or two ago. I typically use my soaps right after making with out any ill affect. They are fully cooked and spoonified when I mold them.

Be aware that pH test strips will only give you a range, but not the actual pH. They are not accurate.

Castile only gets better with age. I cure my pure Castile for 6-8 months.
I superfat at 7-8% as anything below that my skin finds drying.

I don't know why some recipes suggest a 5% superfat. Maybe it's because some calculators use that as a starting point. I just can't use 5% superfat.
