Teach Soap

Hi Folks:

I am really looking for help in creating a recipe that will not contain palm oil (or other palm products), lard or tallow.

I am looking for a hard bar of soap with nice moisturizing properties.

The recipe must allow me sufficient time for swirling, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

75% olive, 20% coconut, 5% castor or 80% olive, 15% coconut, 5% castor.

The high olive takes longer to cure (3 months or so), but the bar will be hard.

Try 100% coconut with a 20% superfat.

Irena, I am intrigued by your response. I ran this through Soap Calc. As expected the Cleansing was off the charts high (67 and the range is 12-22). The Conditioning was a 10 (The range is 44-69). The Creamy part was a 12 (The range is 16-48).

I left the water at the default setting.

Can you tell me about the conditioning being so low and, if this is OK. And does the Cleansing being so very high not create a drying soap?

With this recipe, if I want to allow time for swirling, what should my soaping temperature be and what should my lye / water ratio be?
