Teach Soap

Tried something new and wanted to share results. I'm a scientist so to me, the boundaries to experimentation are limitless.

About a month ago, I finished the most delicious watermelon that left me with about 12 oz worth of juice drippings in the bottom of the bowl. After filtering, I made a small batch using my standard recipe. The fructose in the juice made the batch come dangerously close to overheating. Disaster averted. Bars cured for 33 days. Just tried one of the bars in the shower and have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised at the lather, bar hardness, and cleaning ability.....not to mention the way my skin feels.

I encourage you to try this with your next melon.

Any fruit with a high sugar content will do this.

Very cool idea, thanks for sharing! I definitely am not at that level of experimentation nor creativity; I admire it. Still trying to get a grasp on how to get my soap to stop being so rude when I try to do a swirl.

Could you make wine from the watermelon and then make soap from the wine? I've always wanted to take a wine making class.
