Has anyone else gotten one of these? I love mine, but I have a question-I got a chunk of white stuff. Doesn't act like soap or wax in any way, shape or form. Can someone clue me in on what it might be?

The grab bag came from BB. It's not any of the butters I'm used to working with (shea, cocoa, mango, pistachio...) When I warmed it up, it melted, but solidified very quickly, and reminded me of kids school glue! When I tried washing with it, very little slip, no lather.

eta-could it be rebatch stuff? Anyone with experience with that stuff?

Your random white stuff should definitely have been labeled. I'm sorry about that.

I'll PM you to get more deets. I'm sure I can figure it out for you. =)

Anne-part of grab bags are the mystery of them! Yes it should have been labeled, but part of the fun is figuring it out! Everything else I got was awesome-never knew there was a scent called "not dragonsblood"! Already have a sale for that scent, btw :D

I got a grab bag, too! What fun! I got a hunk of what turned out to be shea butter that I thought was unlabeled. I even emailed customer service ... when they started asking me about it I was about to tell them I thought had a bit of mold on it ... what it really was, was the label that somehow had slid inside and worked its way into the butter! I pulled it out and voila! :)

I just talked with Kelly, our warehouse manager. The only white products they chunked up and put into bags were the 25 pound blocks of Stephenson Melt and Pour soap. We carried Stephenson for a few years and ended up parting ways with them last year but had some soap left over.

Try making 4 ounces of soap with it. It should act like a normal melt and pour with a temperamental attitude. =)

PS - I am SO sorry I took so long to answer this. It's very lame of me. I have no excuse except that the new shopping cart we're working on is totally taking all my bandwidth ... and then the FDA Globalization Act flurry from last week really got me past my tipping point. I'll do better in the future. =)

I'll try it like that, but I've used Stephenson's in the past, still have some in fact, and the little bit I've zapped has come out weird for mp. And no lather....

let you know what happens. I hope I'm wrong, and you are right.

eta-I am happy to report that I am wrong! lathers well, unmolded well, and hardened very fast...I didn't add any extras, just melted some and molded it to see what would happen.
