Teach Soap

I would like to know what is the best equipment to use for 4lb and up batches when mixing lye water with oils. I read that some soap makers use stand mixer. Does anyone here has experience with it.
Also can anyone suggest a brand and where to buy heat safe plastic containers with pouring spout for large batches. The spout will help pouring soap into silicone single cavity molds. I have a hard time finding anything large that is made out of plastic and has a spout

Stand mixer whips too many air bubbles into it and it could splatter. Use a stick blender that has a stainless steel shaft, since plastic could melt.

I use the larger Rubbermaid containers meant for liquids - here is an example:

You can get them pretty cheap at Target, Walmart, etc...

ETA: I don't soap any higher than 130 degrees F and have never had an issue.

A small batch to me would be 1 lb. or less. For 3.456oz of lye, use 3.4 ozs. I normally superfat at 7-8%. I add all my oils and butters right up front and calculate all into my recipe. Lye at trace is still very active and it will take whatever it wants. There is no guarantee that any particular oil or butter will end up as your superfat.

Can anyone suggest proper equipment for pouring soap into the single cavity molds. I have a stainless steel mixing bowl where I pre mix oils and lye and I am afraid that the bowl will not work.
Also I recently bought a plastic funnel pitcher to transfer soap from the bowl for precise pouring. Will it be a good idea to do it this way and will it be enough time to transfer soap from one to another?

You can resize any recipe in soap calc to fit a particular soap mold. Put your recipe into a soap calc, then resize it to what you need. I use The Sage Lye Calc as that's what I used for many years, but there are others out there that will do the same thing.
