Teach Soap

I am new to soaping and I now use Stearic Acid in hot process soap because it gives me a nice hard bar that easier to work with and mold Its come out hard .
I am using Sodium lacate in cold process
I have heard of soapers using salt and sugar to harden their soaps and add bubbes
I tried the sugar but the soap developed soap ash and formed crystals

If you are using stearic acid, you don't need the sodium lactate. Calculate some castor into your recipe and you won't need the sugar. Castor oil adds bubbles.

Do you prefer stearic acid over sodium lacate
I use Stearic acid in hot process as its a much better bar
I used Stearic acid in my cold process and I ended up with white spots .
I am only guessing about how much Stearic acid to use in hot process , I use a once currently , can I use more
and will it harden better with more or crack

I prefer sodium lactate added to my cooled off lye water. Stearic acid can accelerate trace, so depending how much you use, it can be harder to work with.
