the recipe I used is from the book "the best natural homemade soaps" by Mar Gomez.
4 oz mineral water, 3.5 oz lemon juice, 3 oz lye, 1.5 lb olive oil, .35 oz beeswax, lemon zest and .18 oz lemon essential oil.
where I know I made my mistake is using Real Lemon Juice from the bottle...forgetting that I should not use any that are from concentrate.
when trying to cut it just flaked instead and is rock hard. I wanted to check to see if it is still salvageable for home use or should I toss it and start again...I plan on making more anyway but just don't want to throw out the chunks I have if they are usable. Also the book contains recipe's for Orange and Lemon soap, is it possible to combine the 2 and add another batch substituting Grapefruit? a three citrus soap :) ??

Is it hard to find? The only luck I'm having is on eBay

Hello. Im wanting to start soap making... however ive no idea where to start... would it be best to start of with MP? Of so where could I get my potions :) With regards to using essential oils would it just be the same type you would use in an oil burner? Also I am concerned about making soap that is not drying to the skin... I know its a lot to answer... Rebekah
