Teach Soap

I have been trying to research liquid soaps and not really finding the answers I need. Can anyone guide me towards a good info link for this. I have been making cp for about 4 years but its a little different from what I did manage to find! thanks

Making liquid soap is more involved than solid soap. I bought a bunch of books on making liquid soap but BB's online liquid soap tutorial is by far and away the best recipe I have come across for liquid soap, if you do not mind dropping $200 on a Nemsco soup warmer/water jacket. http://www.brambleberry.com/Liquid-Soap ... Thanks, I did a lot of googling and did not come across that info. I am surprised how hard its been to research liquid soap as well as cream soap:)

I researched the heck out of CP when I started a few years ago and found so much helpful info when I started that. I am going to borrow a reader and order a few books as well I think!

What is cream soap? Sounds like liquid soap superfatted to 10% or substituting water for milk or cream.

Everybody's got a trade secret in the soaping & per fuming game. In the case of per fuming quite a bit of material has been removed from the shelves and the books out there only give bits n pieces.

Developing your own scents are fine, but it is better to be able to duplicate the classic accords then put your own variation on it. They're mostly not that easy. Like to make a fougere for men using oak moss & Tonka bean among other EOs you basically need laboratory paper and a vacuum filtration machine to do it right. Even if u do it wrong it still smells great but be careful with that oak moss like all EOs it is a witches brew of powerful chemicals this particular one of which must be under 3% total weight or can & usually does create an allergic reaction.

Mixing lavender and rosemary is pretty safe and smells good. I also Like Lavender, Frankincense, Myhrr, & cinnamon bark. Mixed in that order. For men- the former scent can be unisex but is a bit medicinal smelling for women esp if u put too much rosemary or low quality lavender...

It's good idea to put the EOs in the refrigerator at 38 degrees when u r not using them alot. They last a lot longer. I just learned that recently. Need2get a fridge soon. Dang EOs r not just expensive but perishable. The Rose otto is $100/tbsp & turns into a little bit of a solid in the fridge but reverts to a liquid soon when vial warmed in Palm. I heard. Don't quote me on that. I do like rose otto tho. Guys can wear it I say 'cause it'n lavender are the only EOs I like to wear singularly. Need2get some more of that r.o. I could almost bath in that stuff.

I don't keep EO's in the refrigerator, but I do have a large fragrance cabinet that sits in a temp controlled room.

I just finished making liquid soap last night using Anne's liquid soap recipe. It took me dang near 11 hours making 100 ounces of avocado oil & castor oil soap (6:1 ratio) but so far as I can tell it worked perfectly, altho I have not diluted or scented my paste yet but i was thrilled to see it dissolved clear overnight in the glass jar test. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The potassium hydroxide really makes it reasy to stir after a little bit of the water is evaporated. I'm just trying to figure out how to neutralize it, 'cause i forgot to superfat it at 2% like i think i was supposed to even tho ITS NOT IN THE VIDEO but except for that i just need to neutralize and test ph before i dilute, fragrance, & bottle.

I posted her recipe above but i will post it again for you. I am so glad I ordered the proper piece of equipment and didn't try to do it in a crockpot or a homemade double-boiler i highly recommend buying the cooker Anne recommends was thinking last nite i pity the fool that tries to use a crock pot...
