Soap Queen has a CP frosting recipe in her book with cupcakes and the one with green soap and orange flowers in a video. The one in the book appears to be a simpler recipe but not as good frosting as the video. I am thinking it may just be the pics though. Anyone try either recipe and have any insight? Both recipes look good.

Also, was planning to add some beeswax to prevent sods ash. Any tips on doing this? Hear it can be tricky.

I've never made soap cupcakes so I can't advise on that. I do love beeswax in my soap. I use 5%. The part that is tricky is that the beeswax has a higher melting point than most oils. I melt the beeswax seperately from the oils. I use a tin can in a saucepan of water. Then I pour the melted beeswax into the oils. Sometimes the beeswax will re-solidify b/c the oils are too cool. So then I heat the oils until the beeswax remelts. I guess b/c beeswax is not truly an "oil", but a "wax", it doesn't really dissolve into the oils. It wills seperate out and float aroudn in the oils in little blobs. So I stickblend the oils before adding the lye, and pour the lye water before the beeswax has a chance to seperate out again.

I always melt all my oils, butters and beeswax together. Once melted, the beeswax will melt into the oils. Mine does not separate out. I soap at around 110 degrees and use beeswax in almost every batch. I have never had problems doing it this way.
