Hi, I'm fairly new to CP soap making and have been using EO's so far, but want to try fragrance oils as I understand it to be more affordable and that it keeps it's scent better than EO's. Problem being I am in South Africa and all the cool sites with tips and stuff, being Bramble Berry and Soap Queen which I love, etc., are overseas

You don't get the same fragrance oils brands over here...the ones I see on e.g. Bramble Berry. What I want to know is, what is the difference between fragrance oils and fragrance burner oils? Are they the same? You can find lots of potpourri oils and burner oils over here but can I use it in CP soaps? What can I use as a guideline when shopping for FO's? Thanks!

Fragrance burner oils are usually diluted with something like DPG, which is not suitable for soapmaking. It can make your soap seize.

Thanks so much for your answer. Maybe I should rather stick to EO's for now until I find a safe-to-use FO. Guess I'll have to do a bit of research over here! Thanks again

Many people get confuse when it come to essential oils and fragrance oil, both are different from each others but the purpose of both oils it come for the same use but the chemical are different and also the price will be different. essential oil is something which come from the natural thing like plant, fragrance oil is synthetic products a lots of chemical is used to make it.

what does DPG stand for?
