Can Eucalyptus oil be used as the only fragrance in a cold process soap? I'm thinking of making a batch to be used when cold season hits hoping it would help clear congested noses. Is it safe to be used as a bath soap? It says right on the bottle not to use in children's products but would it be okay in a soap? Should it be blended with some other fragrance so that it isn't so strong? What is your experience with Eucalyptus oil?

Thanks for any suggestions!!
Sherri

Yes, Eucalyptus can be used in cold process soap by itself. You need to be careful about the safe % used. I would go about 0.5 oz. PPO.

I used eucalyptus oil in one of my soaps at .7 and the scent faded a lot. I think it might have had something to do with the butters I used in the soap. I'll try next time to omit butters all together and use straight oils and see if that helps to retain the scent.

Consider hot process and use .5 Oz ppo as Irene said. I do hot process if I use a fragrance that fades in CP.
