I have designed a label for my cp soaps. I have some pretty paper to print it on but it doesn't seem thick enough to hold up. Also, I'm worried that the oils in the soap may discolor the paper. Is there a specific weight of paper that soapers generally use?

Thankyou!
JP

I'm no help. I don't use regular paper. I use labels.

I use card stock that I bought at a craft store chain for my soap bands. There's lots of colors and patterns to choose from. It's sturdy but still flexible enough to fold around the bars. I then apply a shrink band over everything and that also helps to keep it in place even if the bar loses a tiny bit of weight after I wrap it. I let my soap cure 3.5-4 wks before I wrap them. HTH.

My printer was acting up with the card stock paper I bought. I then bought colored paper (Astrobrights Writing Paper) from Amazon. It is acid and lingin free for great quality that doesn't deteriorate, (this is what it states on Amazon). I print my cigar type labels and then place them around the cured soaps. I shrink wrap to hold the label on better. So far, it seems to be working pretty good. The paper is just a little thicker than normal white printer paper. Looks the same as using card stock too. The costs was $14.79 for 200 sheets. All different colors too. Cheaper than me buying another printer. :)
