If they are FD&C colorants, they can be dissolved in water or glycerin. If they are FD&C LAKES those are oil soluble.

Wow that was quick!!! I'm confused though...one is JUST D&C, the Red #33...and I'm not sure how much to put into....whatever I put it into...

Sorry, I forgot to mention...there was no mention of lake in the description of these of The Personal Formulator. I like to use BB's pigments, but it gets a bit pricey and the ones I have from Nature's Garden are holding up well and lasting a long time. I would've bought these particular reds from them, but the only one they had was Red #40, which I bought just to play around with. I didn't want that in my products, though. I like the solubizer I bought from The Personal Formulator, so I went with their's.

missjslick, I do not know much about this as I have never used this type of colorant before. But now I am curious; soapbuddy, do you know how much colorant should be added to how much water/glycerin?

Check with BB or whoever sold the strawberry scent. That often has vanilla in it, so no matter what coloring you use, it will turn.
