Teach Soap

I'm starting early for fall/winter soap scents because I have a lot of craft fairs scheduled. It's easier to store in loaves than cut bars, which leads me to a few questions.

Does the loaf fully cure if it's not cut, or if I wait until fall to cut will I have to wait additional cure time for the center?

Will it get too hard to cut if I wait a few months?

That really depends on your recipe and how/where the log is stored. My bars get hard pretty quick, so I cut them.

A loaf can get too hard to cut with the usual guitar-wire-multibar cutter (I know this from experience...). So keep that in mind if you store the loaf!

Thanks! I decided to go ahead and just cut them. I'm worried that if I wait too long before cutting they'll be too hard and won't look nice.

Do you wrap your soaps?
I think soaps look better unwrapped when you are trying to sell them at markets, but don't they lose their fragrance over time if not wrapped?

I also see some of the homemade soaps at whole foods are kept in loafs and I have seen them cut the with a weird wire contraption thing
