I made these, a couple of different versions, based on Swift's help, over the last week or so.
I have used them three times now, and I think I am finally getting the hang of it.

I tried the "just swipe it over your hair" method that Swift uses, but but it does not deposit enough to get a good lather.
Not sure how it works so well for her...

What worked great today is a combo of the swiping, and working up some lather in my hands and then applying it to my hair. I actually got the same amount of lather as I do from liquid shampoo! So washing my hair felt "normal". Yea!!!! :D

Tomorrow, snow allowing, I am going to send a package of these to my sister in law to distribute to her friends for testing. I am sending along a little instruction sheet, and she will be quizzing them for me after a couple of weeks.

fingers crossed!

I love my syndet shampoo bars. I swipe it over the wet hair a couple of times to get the lather going. My hair doesn't tolerate regular handmade soap.

I think this should be my next step too. I can't seem to get my hair to work with any of the soap or shampoo bars that I have tried. I'm still not sure if it's a matter of pH or if the cleansing value is wrong. I have very fine hair and hard water. Not the best combination.

same here Skater Girl - but now that I have the technique down - I love them. I did put a bit of EDTA in the second batch to help with our super hard water.
