I'm making some favors for an outdoor June wedding, so I want to do them in CP, but want to create embeds for the theme. The embeds will be low sweat detergent free goat milk soap and they will sit on top of the individual bars. For those of you who have done MP embeds in CP, how has it worked out? I'm wondering how the MP holds up to being unwrapped for the CP Cure. I'm getting ready to make these in within the next week or so because I'm going to be busy late April and May, and I also want to have them done early incase there are any problems, that way I have time to re-do if necessary.

I did it with a normal MP base and after three weeks of curing the only time it has sweat is when the CP was gelling and it easily wiped off and has not sweat since!

I also used regular MP on top of CP soap and had no problems with it sweating. I used a silicone mold and did not insulate it. Good luck!

I prefer to use the LCP bases for embeds in CP for 2 reasons.

1) the regular MP base sweats (very humid in NJ!)
2) regular MP base will shrink a decent amount over time, and I've had embeds shrink enough that they fell off of/ out of my CP!

When I use MP for embeds in CP I always put the batch in the fridge or freezer. If you happen to get gel phase your MP will melt and can really ruin the entire batch (aesthetically).

Edited to fix a spelling mistake, because I'm OCD like that

The cp is going to be made in 2 oz bar silicone molds, so I can usually prevent gel. But I was wondering if the MP soap will get dried out or crack over the next few months since I don't usually wrap my cp soap, and this particular favor will be packaged in a mesh drawstring bag. It's good to know of your experience with the mp embed shrinking, I'll have to make sure it's embedded as deep as possible. 8)

I just checked a 1.5 yr old bar with an MP embed on top and it has not cracked or dried out

My Glycerine embeds sweat, maybe its because its warm and humid here?
I used low sweat, so I would hate to see what they are like if I used normal M&P!

Thanks for checking Anna Rose! It makes me feel better about the longer term outcome!

My regular base embeds shrink and crack over time, but my LCP ones don't. I live near the ocean though, so it is pretty humid here and once the glycerin sweats out of the soap it tends to crack and shrink badly.
