Hi all you helpful people! Like many of you I live a long way from any suppliers - the one BB supplier I've found in Australia is about as far away from me as it's possible to get, on the other side of the country. I'm having to plan my recipes and orders way in advance due to the cost of freight and planning isn't my strong point..... My question is, is it okay to use aromatherapy oils in cp soap? These are available from a number of places, I've noticed. I think they are mainly used in oil burners and the like so not sure if they are safe on the skin, and the sellers are not soapers so they can't advise me. I've been able to find a few 100% essential oils but just a bit wary of the FOs. Any advice would be appreciated!

Essential oils for oil burners are usually diluted; most likely with DPG (Dipropylene Glycol), which will make your soap seize.

Exactly what Irena said. If it doesn't say "Skin Safe" I wouldn't use it.

Try Bulk Apothocary for e.o.

Looks like Australis uses the word aromatherapy like they use the word milk. common. do they only believe people use e.o to smell, as in diffusers over there?

I would and can use my e.o. in my diffuser and in my almond oil and i can use it on people's body. Essential oil sellers like to use that word also to make you believe it's un adulterated and will give you the benefits of aromatherapy.

e.o. will cost. So it it's too good a price, trust it has been cut with something to stretch it out and lessen it's therapeutic value.

Also, wellington sell e.o. not sure about where they all ship but places to check out.
and Cambden grey. some are good, some not to so good.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will leave the aromatherapy oils alone. The ones I've seen are the type used in diffusers and burners and I assume they could be used in candles. I will stick to the suppliers on the Net and try to be patient while they are shipped :)
