We have very very very hard water, and I am planning to add some EDTA to my next tester batch of shampoo bars to help with the lather.
I am reading conflicting information on how much to use. The standard info (Lotion Crafter)says .2% for shampoo for the water in the shampoo when formulating, but up to "1.2 – 4% to counteract defoaming action of hardness ions." when used in soap.
So since these bars are a solid - not soap, per se, but a syndet...but still, a solid vs the liquid shampoo for which the .2% applies - would you go higher?
