Bath Melts, 24 cavity silicone mold, about 3/4 of an inch deep

2 cups melted mango butter
2 cups melted shea
1 drop each cavity sandalwood and chamomile eo per cavity
5 cham buds per cavity


They softened over night

Those butters are both pretty soft at room temp, you could get harder melts by subbing in cocoa butter or adding a little beeswax.

I'd sub at least half the butters with cocoa butter. Also, is there anything in this recipe to help it disperse into the water?

You nave nothing in there that acts as a solubizer. You could end up with a very greasy and slippery tub.

Thank you ladies!! I ordered some Polysorbate 80 and some Creammaker CAT....not quite sure how much to use or what to do with it, but I'm sure I'll eventually get it right...I hope lol....

Thank you!! I just made an AWESOME bubble bar...I'm super excited about it. I used edible luster in it, and it looks like sun dappled ocean water. I AM confused about the emulsifiers though, and my once silky bath bombs, using poly 20 or poly 80, no longer feel that way!! I don't know what to do...I have both the polys, Laureth 4, propylene glycol, Cream maker CAT....my eye's are sore, I've been reading constantly....any suggestions would REALLY be appreciated!!! Thanks so much!!

I'm not too sure about bath melts (what exactly are those?), but for bath bombes, I don't think you need an emulsifier. The others were suggesting you use an emulsifier with your bath melts, not your bath bombes (right soapbuddy, Genny, and Paspenka?). I would just take the emulsifier out of the bombes completely.

I don't know much about the different types of emulsifiers. Someone with more knowledge can answer your question concerning those better than I can.

I no longer make bath bombs but when I did, I used an emulsifier. Oils and butters can make your tub very slippery and give you bath tub ring. I use an emulsifier in my bath truffles.

Could you tell me which is the best emulsifier to us, Soapbuddy? I have plenty of different ones here
