Teach Soap

As my name implicates, I am new to soaping . I have bee asked by a friend if I could make her a batch of Patchouli soap. I have never used Patchouli EO. I am looking for advise from those of you who use it. Would you recommend using it alone or in combination with another EO?

Any other pointers?

Hi Amanda and welcome to the soaping world. No matter how long you've been doing it, still welcome again to our obsession.

My sister who is 64 loves Patchouli soap. I make it for her using Essential oil and Lavender e.o. No fragrance oil I've come across has yet to appeal to her as the real stuff. Ya, it's expensive but when she's the only one using it, I do it for her. I also only use Lavender 40/42.

I don't know how much to use as she only complains when it's not strong enough for her. so I could use an ounce in a pound and she still says nothing..

Welcome!
You can use any cold process soap recipe and add Patchouli essential oil to it. I always go by weight. For each lb. of oils, I use 0.5 of Patchouli oil. It's very strong and does not need an anchor to stay.
