Teach Soap

I just did a casual survey of some of my readers (I'm a writer) about what fragrances they'd like in soap. The overwhelming answer was sandalwood. So, I'm sure the EO is really pricey and since I'm just handing these out as freebies, anyone have suggestions about a good FO? I have an untouched bottle of Indian Sandalwood from BB, but it is about 5 years old. Think that'll need to be tossed?
Also, I used to do a Sandalwood/Vanilla/Patchouli blend for men, any other suggestions with blending Sandalwood?

I use BB's Indian Sandalwood. As long as it's been stored properly and doesn't smell funky, it should be fine to use.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I use BB's Sandalwood FO and it is wonderful. I also make a blend with the Sandalwood and BB's Smokey Patchouli. Everyone that likes Patch, loves it. I am very much a Sandalwood and Patchouli fanatic (must be my hippy soul) and I haven't found anything else I want to blend with it. Maybe someone else can give you some suggestions.

I love the smell of sandalwood, but am a bit scared to try it. Dad used to burn a stick of sandalwood incense every Saturday night, and I would suffer with horrible allergies until Monday. No other incense ever bothered me, so I worry that it was the sandalwood!

I do love the smell of it though, since it reminds me of Saturday nights with my family.

I love Sandalwood, but the EO is so pricey. I got a sample of Smooth Sandalwood from WSP but according to the reviews it doesn't behave well with CP so i haven't used it in soap. It is lovely in lotions though.

Any suggestions or thoughts on blending it with citrus?

Sandalwood itself is an endangered plant in many places, thus leading to the price hike due to its unavailability. Amyris and Howood are some good alternatives to Sandalwood, and they are more earth-conscious. Of course, the scents are slightly different, so your mileage may vary.

I love the scent of sandalwood beads. But have yet to have a good one. I won't even bother trying to get it again.
I have to fine a reason why I bought it . Will look a bit later and post. If I can find it

It's like trying to get a good patchouli . My sister loves the e.o. But the f.os smell too sweet. Not patchouli at all
