I posted about cracking soap recently and thanks for your replies! This, of course, created even more questions so here is round 2.
I usually make 20 bars at a time (4.5oz) but someone wants a larger quantity so I was stepping up to 80 bars at a time. A big/massive crack developed and my questions are:
- does Beer specifically have special problems attached with overheating, cracking? (aside from volcano, etc.) - my mold is a wooden box. should I use plastic or something that could let heat escape faster? - i make it around 90-95 degrees but it heated to 130. if i create it at 130 will that have a more uniform saponification and cooling process? - how long should it stay in the mold for?
Thanks, as usual.
