I am trying to make perfume oil. I know that I need top, middle and base notes. What if I just wanted lavender? How many drops to co? Even then it had a short life it won't last long? Had anyone found a calculator for this? I only have a few eo's (lavender, lemon, orange, peppermint, eucalyptus, rosemary, and vanilla). What ratio do I use to ensure the oil will smell for more than two hours? Also, if I use a blended oil from brambleberry what ratio of that eo to co would I use?

On a different not have you ever seen a lip balm base made with apricot kernal as 1st ingredient? Or the ingredients listed here for a lotion base? Di water, grapeseed oil, avocado oil, fractionated coconut oil, emulsifying wax nf, glyceryl monostearate, jojoba oil, shea butter, aloe leaf juice, stearic acid, vitamin a, vitamin c, vitamin d, silk acids

These are a few of the ingredients I remember.

Have you tried BrambleBerry's fragrance calculator? You can use lavender straight or make a blend with it. Citrus oils don't last long on the skin. Unless the orange oil is bergaptene free, it can make the skin sun sensitive and might even cause a sunburn. Every essential oil is used at a different %, as not all are safe at the same rate. On the lotion, I don't see a preservative. Glyceryl monostearate does have some preserving properties, but it's used more as a skin lubricant. Lip balm base can have apricot kernel as a first ingredients, but it should not have water or aloe as that would make it more of a lotion.

I did use the fragrance calculator at bramble berry, but perfume oil is not an option such as lotions or soap.

So I am at a loss. I have setup some trial scents: lavender jasmine mint, vanilla lemon, lavender rosemary lemon mint, and eucalyptus lemon mint. I will check them in a few days and see how they work out fragrance wise.

I was hoping that there was a standard formula. For example, if you use this carrier oil you can put this amount of eo drops in and it will work.

To be honest I would do it under lotion(or body butter is even better if they have it!) since they are both stay-on products thot have oil in it. thats just me but soapbuddy is sure to have the perfect answer!

I'm not trying to copy anyone's formula or anything. That's blasphemy! I found the ingredients for it on a random website professing praise for the way the person felt afterwards, but in my search to try to get a sample from that site. I never found one. I'm not trying to copy anyone.

As for the perfume, I was told 2.5 ml in a 9 ml roller ball. It seems to be a bit much considering that you just put drops of some eo/fo's in a perfume. Oh well still at the drawing board. As for the base, middle, and top notes-- I haven't got that many of eo/fo in stock. I'm just starting out. Those scents above we're the eo's I found at my local store. I didn't want to get into deep money wise yet.
