Teach Soap

I'm new to the forum and also new to soap making. I tried about ten different searches and each came up with the message that indicated it was too common a word. If it was like "soap" or "making" then I would understand, but I was looking for recipes for instance "lemongrass" or "Shea butter". I would think if trying to find a recipe for a soap containing one of these essential oils, that it would be real nice to go off and search posts for them. Am I missing something?

you mean the search on this forum? Because I went and searched "lemongrass" without changing any of the settings and it had no problems bringing up like 400+ results.

Delhi - thanks for your reply. Yes I am talking about searching the forum. Ok, I just retried and now I got results. I went back and put in "Shea" and came back with too common a word. Tries "butter" and same result. Tried "shea|butter" and same response. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Shea butter is too common of a word. Try "shea butter soap" in quotes.

Soapbuddy - tried that as well as well as "shea butter recipe" with the same result - "too common". Seems to me that the search feature isn't very useful if you search what it considers "uncommon", and I'm having trouble finding an uncommon word. So far I've only found "lemongrass". Is there a way to address an Admin directly and see if it possible to open up the search capability

Ah, this is a little ridiculous. Even if I limit the search to only first posts in a topic, only to this forum (Melt and Pour) and only within past day, it still just automatically won't search for "shea butter"

I can understand not wanting to do a search when it's going come back with thousands of results, but the limits I used should have only left me with probably this thread.

Sephi - thanks. Guess I'll have to be more patient. I find it interesting that it mentions it ignored shea and glycerin. It would be nice to know what common words they have hard wired in to the search engine.

I have better luck if I search Google using keywords: teach soap forum+shea+melt

I am emailing our web designer regarding this, not sure if it is something that can be changed or not. I do know that you can search from Google by typing in this 'shea site:www.teachsoap.com' or just replace shea with whatever you want to find.
